Ruining Movies On Social Media
DON’T WORRY, THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS ARTICLE!
If you haven’t seen the superhero movie that has hit theaters, then I feel bad for you. Plenty of people have already flocked to the theaters to watch the flick, and many of those same people had mixed emotions regarding the ending.
Regardless how they felt, many of these people rushed to social media after the credits rolled to “troll” folks who haven’t seen it yet. They made memes, clips, and even just randomly commented the ending in various posts that had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MOVIE itself.
It’s ridiculous to me! It’s ridiculous how there are people out there who have SO much time on their hands, that they have to use it to ruin the fun for the rest of the world.
Now let’s get something straight here though; I’m not writing this because the movie was ruined for me. I enjoy these superhero movies, and will watch them from time to time. But for some reason, I haven’t been able to really get invested in them. I can tell you a majority of the bigger characters, but I couldn’t tell you much else.
But there are people out there who are heavily invested in these superhero movies who are getting their hopes crushed because of this garbage, because of people like that.
And honestly, I use to kind of chuckle at the thought of people waiting in long lines to be the first to see a movie. I hate to admit it, because I don’t really like bashing people’s passions like that. But I always thought to myself; “Can’t you just see it tomorrow?”
But after experiencing people ruining the movie online, I have a new found respect for folks who wait on opening night. They’ve been hyped up for months, and they’d rather not have it ruined when they accidentally check their social media feeds. It all makes sense now!
The moral of the story here is, don’t be an asshole. If you are going to TALK ABOUT the movie, do everyone a favor and say SPOILER ALERT beforehand.
And if you want to leave a comment below, make sure to not read the others. Because more than likely, someone is going to think they are SUPER funny and spoil it for you there too.
