Mohamed Bamba Is The Way To Go For The Chicago Bulls
I’m TIRED of the speculation, rumors, and other bullshit surrounding the Chicago Bulls and their seventh overall pick. People continue to fight over who they SHOUlD draft, when in reality the Bulls will make a stupid mistake once again and crush our dreams.
Some of these rumors include, but are not limited to; Trae Young, Michael Porter Jr., and Mohamed Bamba. Each one of these players would provide the Bulls with something, but I feel only ONE would be the best for Chicago.
For me, the Bulls need to draft Mohamed Bamba. They need to be drafting the big man out of Texas to help solidify a front-court that has the ability to be VERY DANGEROUS in the NBA.
Lauri Markkanen is the STAR of this team, there is no question about it. But Robin Lopez is FAR from what they need at the center position. He’s not “bad,” but he doesn’t pose a major threat to other teams in the league. This leads to teams keying in on Markkanen, and making his life a living hell.
What Bamba would provide for Chicago is a big man they can build around and help Markkanen in the paint. He can be a “glass-eater” and dish it out to his teammates on the perimeter.
Now, some believe that Trae Young would be a great pick for the team. He’s the ELECTRIC point guard out of Oklahoma that led the country in scoring with 27.4 points per game. The problem I have with him is he needed close to 20 shots a game to get there. AND, the Bulls also already have Kris Dunn, who is their young starting PG on the team.
Honestly, I don’t trust Trae Young. I think he can be hot at one moment, and a stinker the next. Not only that, his size will absolutely play a factor against the much bigger competition on the next level.
Then, there is Michael Porter Jr.; small forward from the University of Missouri. He was PLAGUED by injuries this past season; playing twice during the regular season and once in the tournament.
Michael Porter Jr. has close to NO resumé to go off of from the season. He averaged 10 points during the regular season, and scored 16 against Florida State in the tourney; but THAT’S IT! If I was in the front office, I wouldn’t waste my seventh pick for him. If it was a little farther down the board, I could understand it; but not seventh.
Now, I can argue and complain all I want about who the Bulls should target in the draft. The problem is, I have no say in the matter. The decision will be made by the front office, and knowing the Bulls, I will probably be pissed off about it. But, that’s the world we live in.
What do you think of the draft coming up? Do you think the Bulls should go for Young, Porter, or Bamba? Or is there another prospect they need to target? Let me know in the comments below.
