I’m Watching Hockey Instead….
The Cavaliers beat the Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and are on their way to the Finals YET AGAIN! They will be facing the Warriors YET AGAIN after Curry and co. finished off the Rockets in their seven game Western Conference series.
And with that, I have officially CHECKED OUT when it comes to playoff basketball. Hell, I’ve checked out when it comes to basketball in general until next year starts. I can’t handle yet ANOTHER Warriors vs. Cavs finals. It’s getting old really fast, and shows how dry and dull the league is.
So now, I will be focusing my attention on the Capitals vs. Knights series.
Now I know, I already published an article about not knowing alot about hockey. But think of the story behind this championship series. Think of the IMPLICATIONS it will have on the history of the league.
For one, it has been over 35 years since an expansion team even reached the PLAYOFFS in their first year. Now, the Knights are looking to WIN IT ALL in their first year as a franchise.
Then, you have the Capitals, who have NEVER won a Cup! Hell, they haven’t even played for one in the past 20 years. And they have a veteran in Ovechkin who is SEARCHING for that first one in his career.
This is what sports are made of; two teams like this going head-to-head in the hopes of making history. You don’t get this kind of stuff with a Warriors vs. Cavs series that’s being played out for the UMPTEENTH time, you don’t.
So if you by chance find me at a bar within the next few weeks, you better believe that I will be paying attention to hockey. Because I am SICK AND TIRED of these boring, dull, dragged-out Warriors vs. Cavs matchups YEAR AFTER YEAR!
Do you agree with my statement? Or do you believe Warriors vs. Cavs would be a better matchup then Knights and Capitals? Let me know in the comments below.
