Snackage After Close: A Better Breakfast
You think your breakfast is good? You think your two pieces of gluten-free tofu loaf slices with fat-free butter and a sliced papaya are the “bees knees?”
THINK AGAIN! Because I got a better breakfast.
For those of you who may be unaware, I love me some breakfast food. And that, my friends, is what I have been craving this ENTIRE shift.
Now when I say “breakfast food,” I’m not talking about just one particular dish. I’m talking about a FEAST! I’m talking about all of the best foods that you can think of spread across your kitchen counter, just waiting for you to stuff your fat face.
But what kind of breakfast foods am I thinking of, you may ask? Well believe you me, I’m here to tell you.
So in my book, you have to start with the eggs. Some people may say you need to have your eggs prepared a certain way; but to be honest, they are just masking all of their own insecurities they may have. You prepare your eggs HOWEVER THE HELL YOU WANT!
For me, I take my eggs scrambled, with a little bit of salt, pepper, and melted cheese mixed in. But be careful; because if done incorrectly, you could either have a sloppy pile of goop or eggs that are stiff and rubbery. PAY ATTENTION when you’re cooking.
Next to that, there are the hash-browns. And these aren’t the hash-browns that are caked together and served in a bag at a fast-food establishment, OH NO! These are warm, flaky hash-browns that are piled HIGH on your plate. There is NO picking these up; you’re going to need a fork when you make REAL hash-browns.
Across from those, there’s the toast. Now with toast, EVERYONE has their own preference with how cooked they want it. It can be in the toaster anywhere from thirty seconds, or until they are burnt to a crisp. But regardless how long you cook them, BUTTER is always an essential part to the toast-making process.
On a separate plate, you have the pancakes. Now some would say that the pancakes are the “stars” of a breakfast feast. They tend to get the most recognition on the menu, and are the most popular amongst the masses; especially with the kids. When I make pancakes, I like to make them nice and wide instead of minute in stature. That way, it makes it feel like I am eating more than I actually am.
To top off my pancakes, I always pour large amounts of syrup over them. But I don’t go too excessive with it, because I would much rather taste more of the pancake instead.
Now, I can go on and on with breakfast foods to complete your morning feast. I can mention crisp pieces of bacon that taste like little strips of “heaven” when you dip them in the pancake syrup. Or I can talk about the various doughnut flavors that you can purchase from a local bakery.
But overall, breakfast is that moment of the day where the possibilities are endless. Breakfast is when you can have what you want, and as much as you want, without anyone telling you otherwise. And when you add a beer to the mix, you can’t help but be excited and ready to take on the day ahead of you.
Now, are there any other breakfast foods that I may have missed? Do you have a specific breakfast spread that you partake in? Let me know in the comments section below.
