Happy Father’s Day!
What can I say about “Pappa Sherman?” He’s the man, the myth, AND the legend. Even though he didn’t necessarily “give birth” to me, he still had something to do with me coming into existence; (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).
Pappa Sherman; he made sure that I was loved unconditionally, and that I was fed, clean and an overall happy and healthy kid. But he did something much more than that; he taught me how to be a man. My father showed me what it takes to work hard, and to be a family man all at the same time. My father showed me that work doesn’t just stop at the end of the day; that there is more to be done at the house; (yard work, painting, etc..)
Let’s just say, I would be PROUD if I could be just half the man that you are.
And on this day, this very special day, we celebrate you dad! And on this special day, I want you to do something for me; grab the paper and a beer, sit by the pool, and just chill. There’s no need to get up and “do stuff;” you can save any projects for another day.
So thank you Dad! Thank you for being the man of the house! Thank you for being that calm, rational voice to listen to any of my problems. Thank you for teaching me, and showing me that the word “quit” is only a four letter word that some wimp made up when something was too hard. There’s been so many wonderful memories the past 25 years dad, and here’s hoping for another fun and crazy 25 more!
Love you Dad, today is your day!
