If I was this guy, I would be PISSED!

According to NBC News“A suburban Detroit man who won an $80 million lottery jackpot must share it with his ex-wife, a Michigan court ruled.” The article then goes on to say that the actual amount came out to “$38.3 million after taxes and other deductions.”

Dear lord, I almost lost EVERY BIT of my cool when I read about this story……..and I’m in a coffee shop right now! You mean to tell me that this guy has to fork over (roughly) HALF of all his winnings during a divorce? A divorce?

For those who are unaware, the term divorce means to; “legally dissolve one’s marriage with someone.” In laments terms; that means that you are done with THEM, and they are done with YOU! Regardless if it’s mutual or messy; divorce means that the party is over, and it’s time to sweep up, pack up, and get ready for the next act.

Here’s how I look at it; once the papers are filed, that should be the end of the game. In my head, when divorce papers are filed, the clock on the “scoreboard of marriage” has three zeros and the buzzer is BLARING. And apparently, according to the article, the documents WERE filed…………JUST UNDER TWO YEARS BEFORE HE WON THE MONEY!

But, I shouldn’t be too mad for the guy. Hell, he shouldn’t be too mad either. I mean, even though he has every right to want ALL of the money; he’s still getting somewhere in the ballpark of $23 million (allegedly). That’s nothing really to scoff at.

But what do you think? What are your thoughts on the whole situation? Let me know in the comments section below, or on one of our various social media accounts;
