Late Night Drinking Thoughts 13
Some people will tell you that the number 13 is an unlucky number. They’ll compare it to the unluckiest day that is “Friday The 13th,” while others would cite religious based-reasons for how unlucky it is.
But for me, the number 13 is…more of a sign. The number 13 is more of an opening for something great; a look into an unknown realm of possibilities. (Or I could just be drunk off my ass, and these words typed together are what sound the best at this given time).
Either way, let’s get into some thoughts;
Does anyone else use the same message on dating apps all of the time? Ladies and gentlemen, don’t be fooled by that “lovey dovey” message that you get on one of these dating apps; chances are that person has used it MANY times before.
Take me for example; I use the EXACT same message every time I get a match with someone on a dating app. It doesn’t matter who it is; the initial message that I send to a match is the exact same, WORD FOR WORD, every time;
“Hi! How are you doing today? I must say you seem like a really cool person and I’d love to get to know you better!”
Does that make me sound like a “catfish” or a “bot?” Maybe so. But do I waste my time trying to think of different messages for each and every match I get? You’re DAMN RIGHT I don’t!
Because remember folks; a match doesn’t mean SHIT unless a date comes out of it.
How many times do you lock/re-lock your car after you park it?
— The Midwestern Barfly Gazette (@MWBarflyGazette) September 1, 2019
Many people will have different thoughts when it comes to this number. Some will say that anybody who “re-locks” their car after the first beep is neurotic and “over-cautious.” Having said that, there are other people who will have their own reasons for “re-locking” their car an extra one time, two times, three times, and so on.
For me, I think two locks TOTAL is the absolute “sweet spot.” For me, I think two locks TOTAL provides you with enough comfort to know that your car is closed up for the duration of time you will be away from it. And you can even do it as you are walking away from the vehicle. All you need is the initial lock once you’ve closed all the doors, and then a “re-lock” as you are walking away. You can even be putting your keys in your pocket/purse during the “re-lock” to make it look smoother.
All I ask though is that you aren’t “re-locking” your car more than twice. Hell, I’ll even give you three times; but NO MORE THAN THAT. Because I’ve heard people locking their cars six, seven, and even eight times in the span of two minutes………and IT’S ANNOYING! I get wanting to be careful, but that seems a little excessive don’t you think?
