Late Night Drinking Thoughts 19: Thanksgiving Edition
We are FINALLY coming up on one of my FAVORITE holidays of the year; Thanksgiving. It’s that time of year where we sit down with our families, eat mountains of delicious food, and drink tons of booze. It’s a wonderful time of the year!
However, people are not giving Thanksgiving the respect that it deserves. They’re already decorating for Christmas, singing carols, and listening to Christmas music nonstop on the radio for HOURS on end. It’s insane!
So because of that, “Late Night Drinking Thoughts 19” is going to have a holiday theme to it. Because of that, I’ll be covering some of the topics that may come up during “Thanksgiving week,” because WAY to many people are so “gung ho” to jump RIGHT TOO December 25th;
If football isn’t playing on your television from kickoff of Game 1, then you should NEVER host Thanksgiving again! It’s true; football is one of the BIGGEST traditions in the country when it comes to Thanksgiving. Whether it’s playing football outside with the family, or watching the Lions and Cowboys play for the millionth straight year; Thanksgiving signifies FOOTBALL!
That’s why if you are not playing football from the MOMENT I walk into your home, then that is my last Thanksgiving at your house. I mean come on now; next you’re going to tell me that it’s going to be a “dry” Thanksgiving??? Give me a break!
If the family is on your case about why you are still single, try this move. Now, I’m not saying that this plan is “fool-proof.” HOWEVER, if performed correctly, you’re family SHOULD be off your back about not having a date for the rest of the night.
What is that move you may ask? Well, it’s rather simple; throw another one of your family members “under the bus.” Try to bring up why THEY are still single, and get the attention put on them.
But just remember, you have to do this near the BEGINNING of the conversation/topic, not in the middle. Because if you try to switch attention to that family member too late, then your family will catch on easily to what you’re doing.
And if you don’t have a “single” family member that you can “throw under the bus,” then………….that’s sucks for you, and Happy Thanksgiving too!
