Back On That Grind After The “Holiday Hangover”
Don’t lie, we’ve all had it. After a long holiday weekend, we’ve all had that “Holiday Hangover;” that time where all of the food and booze from the time off just makes you feel sluggish and tired. It’s that “hangover” that makes you walk into work on the Monday after, look around, and mutter under your breath; “I hate this place. Where’s the booze?”
No one is immune to this kind of hangover, no one can escape this kind of hangover; it’s just something that happens to all of us. Hell, it’s been happening to me too. I mean, just look at the articles I’ve been putting up; two memes, and the “Happy Thanksgiving” article? That just tells you that I ate SO MUCH, to the point where all of the food was just dragging my brain down. That just tells you that I drank SO MUCH, that my brain felt like I was on the beach in the Bahamas instead of in my room in cold-ass Illinois!
Some would say, it’s the “Holiday Hangover Writer’s Block.”
“But Kellen, how do you get out of this funk? What’s the best way to get out of the dreaded “Holiday Hangover” and get back into the working way?”
Well, anonymous article critic; there are many different people with many different ways of operating throughout their day. Some people like to have coffee to get their mind right, some like to go to the gym, while others perform some sort of “hobby” or “activity” that get’s their brain-juices flowing.
Me, I believe in just diving back into my work and grinding away. I believe in doing what I can to put out great content for you all, and just plugging along like I normally do. Because once I get back into that rhythm that I had before Thanksgiving, I’ll be back into that “writing spirit” in no time!
(And a couple brewski’s to get the “creative juices” flowing never hurts!)
Hopefully, I will be back to my normal self in no time. But until then, I want to know how YOU are doing getting back into the “swing of things.” Let me know in the comments below, and on Twitter at @KShermanSports
